Americans can’t trust media with news or Democrats with power after their joint coverup of Biden’s dementia, Hawley argues

Democrats can’t be trusted with power after covering up Joe Biden’s dementia – and after not even showing up for a hearing on the scandal, says Missouri Sen. Josh Hawley.

“Their own Justice Department interviewed the guy and concluded he could not form the requisite mental state to stand trial,” Hawley said at a Senate committee hearing on the Biden dementia coverup Wednesday.

“He did not have the mental ability to stand trial.”

“Biden,” Hawley reminded the hearing, “let’s not forget, illegally took classified documents – illegally took classified documents – and kept them in his garage, in his freezer. I mean, Lord knows where. He just certainly didn’t know.”

Indeed, Special Counsel Robert Hur, who investigated Biden’s taking of classified documents before he was president, shockingly concluded in February 2024 that Biden couldn’t be prosecuted as Trump was because, “at trial, Mr. Biden would likely present himself to a jury, as he did during our interview of him, as a sympathetic, well-meaning, elderly man with a poor memory.”

“And what did our Democrat colleagues say?” Hawley asked Wednesday, noting that no Democrat members showed up for the Senate Judiciary Committee hearing.

The fiery senator listed various Democrat denials of Biden’s startling cognitive decline, including from senators, congressmen and even Vice President Kamala Harris, all of whom claimed at the time that Hur’s report was unfair, a cheap shot and grandstanding.

“I found the president to be sharp, focused, impressive, formidable and effective,” Hawley quoted Democrat Sen. Jon Ossoff of Georgia.

Biden was “incredibly strong, forceful, and decisive,” Hawley quoted House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, D-New York, as saying.

“Where are they now?” demanded Hawley, gesturing to Democrats’ empty seats at the hearing. “They don’t want to answer for any of those quotes now. They lied to us for four years. And we know they lied. They know they lied. It’s why they’re not here. They don’t want to answer a single question. They can’t bear to show their faces in public.

“And you know what? It’s right that they can’t do that, because with the bill of goods they sold this country, they walked this country right into one of the greatest constitutional crises of our history – of our history. And now they are afraid to even show up to admit it.

“These are people, and this is a party, that cannot be trusted with power, that cannot be trusted to tell the truth, the most basic truths. They all changed their tunes after Joe Biden debated President Trump and the whole world could see he couldn’t even form a sentence – that running this guy for president again was a form of elder abuse.

“My, how they changed their tunes after that. Now they can’t even show up in public to talk about it. This is embarrassing.”

Hawley was still incensed in an exclusive interview with The Heartlander after the hearing – where he said the headline was that each use of the presidential autopen is supposed to be memorialized in written directives.

“There’s supposed to be a clear record created every time the president personally directs the use of the autopen,” Hawley told The Heartlander. “So, we need to see the records.

“And I called on the former president today to release his records, his personal records. His aides, if they’ve got the records, they should release them. And if they won’t do it, we ought to subpoena those.

“I think the biggest thing to come out of the hearing: there should be, in these presidential papers, records of every time the president authorized the autopen. So, let’s find out. Did he?

“I mean, we know when he used the autopen. So, did he authorize it? Did he personally authorize it or not? And when, exactly – and for what, exactly? Let’s find out. There should be records for this. If there aren’t records, that’ll tell you the story. That will tell you that they evaded the law, they broke the law.

“So, let’s go get it. Let’s go get those records. Biden ought to release them. He could put this to bed. He says, ‘Oh, we did everything by the book.’ Fine: release all your records. If not, we ought to subpoena them.”

Hawley also elaborated on his disgust with the Democrat disappearance at the historic hearing – where he said none of them showed up.

“No, of course not. Not a single Democrat – because they’ve spent the last four years being part of this fraud. And now they’re still carrying on the fraud and the stonewall. They lied for years through their teeth and said, ‘Oh, Biden, he’s capable.’

“I read a bunch of their quotes today: ‘He’s capable. He’s strong. He’s forceful. He’s independent. He’s decisive.’ They were saying this in 2024! They knew it was a lie. They couldn’t even show their faces in public today.

“These are people who have consistently lied in order to carry on a constitutional crisis. They knew the guy wasn’t really in charge. They didn’t care. Because it was power for them. And this is why you just cannot trust these people to tell you the truth.

“And you can’t trust the media to tell you the truth. The media helps them. We need to get the facts, which is why we need to subpoena these records. We need to know exactly who authorized the use of the autopen, who was doing this, why were they doing that. All of it needs to get onto the public record.”
