Our enemies, both foreign and domestic, have hit upon their most ingenious, most insidious formula yet: turning July 4th into a protest rather than a celebration.

Don’t let them.

A “No Kings 2.0” protest is planned in cities across the country this Fourth of July, according to a flier making the rounds online that’s chock full of typos and schoolboy misspellings – errors so glaring that some patriots suspect foreign handiwork.

However fumbling, the call to protest on our nation’s birthday anniversary is clever enough that our enemies in Beijing, Moscow, Tehran and most office suites in the United Nations building must be thrilled.

How better to demoralize, demean and degrade the freest country on Earth than by duping its own citizens into protesting its very founding?

All the more reason to cheer on the joint Department of Justice/IRS investigation into the origins and funding of the violent Los Angeles riots.

These protests are not organic. Gullible people are being played by rich, powerful and shadowy people and organizations.

The ploy to belittle America’s founding is the same that’s been employed, to some unfortunate success, against its discovery. The left has toiled for decades now to erase Christopher Columbus’ legacy by declaring the day set aside to remember him as “Indigenous Peoples Day” instead.

Tragically, untold thousands of bleating sheep will follow the leftist shepherd’s lead, leaving their families and friends July 4th to burn their holiday uselessly wailing on the side of the road about how unfree we all are and what a tyrant the duly elected president is for — gasp! — actually enforcing the law.

Ironically enough, they’re free to do so, given that, in actuality, there is no monarch trying to prevent it.

Of course, the rational response to the attempted hijacking of our national birthday is the one applied by one X user who – mindful that the American Revolution plucked us out from under an actual monarch’s thumb – wrote simply, “July 4th is already No Kings day dummy.”

Indeed, those among the leftist herd who are still capable of independent thought might do well to turn away from the madding crowd and spend the holiday reading.

In fact, here are just a few July 4th reading recommendations for the little lambs of the left:

• The founding documents.
• What’s really going on in the country, versus what legacy media are saying. Try scrolling X.
• The Biden administration’s horrific record of violating the rights of conservatives, starting with the First Amendment right to free speech and extending to the Fourteenth Amendment’s equal protection clause.
• The American Miracle book, on the miraculous God-inspired founding of America.
• Revolutionary Dissent, a book about the tyranny a real tyrant inflicts on a people.

Again for those leftists still able to think for themselves: You’re being hoodwinked.

Here’s how:

First off, Donald Trump is not doing anything resembling a king or even a potentate, whatever the heck that is. He’s applying the law – which increasing numbers of judges and appellate courts are realizing, and which certainly can be a shock to the system after four years of partisan, unequal and cynical applications of it.

Secondly, the people concocting these ginned-up grievance fests behind the scenes know full well they’re lying about America and its freedoms.

Everyone down the chain from them is being disingenuously bamboozled into a fake froth of Trump Derangement Syndrome rabidness and phony anti-Americanism – most shrewdly on our enemies’ part, on the very day we should all – like legal immigrant Arnold Schwarzenegger – be nothing but grateful and reverent for living in the greatest nation in history.

For those witless enough to fall into this obvious trap: You’re hurting the country you claim to love.

But you’re mostly hurting yourself. Every second you’re standing under the July sun to disparage your country, know that the rest of us are enjoying great American cookouts, refreshing American swimming pools, inspiring American parades and fun American fireworks.

And know that July 4th will never be Indigenous Enemies Day.
