Report: Religious freedom increasing in workplace

(The Lion) — Religious freedom and faith-oriented inclusion are increasing in the corporate business sphere, according to a recent report from The Religious Freedom & Business Foundation (RFBF).

The Faith-Friendly Workplace REDI Index is the nonprofit’s international benchmarking survey tracking companies’ commitment to religious freedom in the workplace.

“Our approach is to build religious freedom for all by expanding the space where faith is welcome in business, society, and the world,” it said in its 2025 index report.

Seventy-five percent of participating companies mention religious policies on their public websites, according to the report.

Of the remaining companies, 21% discuss religion on other company webpages while 4% make no mention of it.

“Faith-oriented inclusion and belonging initiatives have grown in intensity in Q1 2025,” the report concluded. “For example, the average REDI Monitor score increased significantly from 2024 to 2025 (3.6 to 4.2), and more than doubled since 2022.”

The top five companies who received the highest score in the report from first to fifth were Accenture, Equinix, DELL, Merck and Intuit.

“Accenture is (the) most faith-friendly workplace among Global Fortune 500 companies in 2025, for the third year running,” the report announced.

The survey posed 11 questions, each offering up to 10 points for a total of 110 available points.

A final 12th question offered 10 bonus points for companies to include additional examples of religious freedom and faith incorporation.

These questions addressed various areas including human resource policies, charity and donation practices, holy day observations, dress and diet.

Eight Fortune 500 companies mentioned the REDI Index on their company websites, according to the report.

The nonprofit also recognized Glenda Cameron as the ERG (Employee Research Group) Leader of the Year for her work at DELL and other companies to encourage faith-friendly workplaces.

“I am so blessed to work for a company that honors religious diversity and inclusion in the workplace, where we can bring our entire souls to work with us each and every day,” Cameron said in a video on the nonprofit’s website.
