$300 million family entertainment district coming to Lake of the Ozarks

OSAGE BEACH, Mo. – A $300 million entertainment district and world-class resort is making its way to the lake area with an estimated opening of summer 2024.

The 20-acre development includes plans for roller coasters, a 200-foot observation wheel, a small amphitheater, a marina, world class hotels, restaurants and a lake boardwalk.

“If roller coasters aren’t your thing – that’s fine. This is not just an amusement park going in. It is truly a full encompassing hospitality landmark for Lake of the Ozarks,” Economic Development Specialist Mitchell Moon told The Heartlander.

Moon believes the new entertainment district will bring tremendously positive effects for the lake region’s economy. The project is expected to employ up to 500 workers in the area.

“It fills a market that is underdeveloped, and that is the family entertainment side,” Moon said. “The Lake of the Ozarks is not just Missouri’s playground for adults anymore, it is developing into fun for all ages. You don’t have to be an adult to enjoy the lake anymore.”

The city of Osage Beach has hired St. Louis-based Tegethoff Development and SkyView Partners to develop the district, which will be christened as “Oasis at Lakeport.” Tegethoff Development is a distinguished luxury lifestyle developer in the Midwest, and the Osage Beach project will be owner Jeff Tegethoff’s second at the Lake of the Ozarks.

SkyView Partners will handle the amusement-oriented development and brings over 40 years of experience in commercial real estate development and amusement attractions.

“The Osage Beach community has been asking for more family-friendly entertainment options, and I am proud to work with SkyView Partners and Tegethoff Development to help deliver such a large investment to our city,” Osage Beach Mayor Michael Harmison said in a press release.

The entertainment district will sit along the Lakeport property, which was acquired by Big Thunder Marine in 2021 at Highway 54 and Jeffries Road close to the Grand Glaize Bridge.
