An off-duty Texas firefighter is being hailed as a hero after saving three children trapped underneath a capsized boat over the July 4 holiday.
A boat carrying nine people flipped on Alvarado Lake, about 26 miles south of Fort Worth, pinning three kids under the hull, according to WFAA.
Firefighter Jason Horne was nearby and immediately dove into the water. He repeatedly swam under the capsized hull, pulling out two children and performing CPR until they breathed again. Other boaters managed to free the third child, whom Horne also revived.
All three children are now recovering at a hospital in that region.
