CNN’s Dana Bash didn’t just interview Republican Sen. Marco Rubio on Sunday. She argued with him – claiming, as if she had a personal stake in it, that “there’s no evidence that Joe Biden has gone after political opponents.”

Has she even looked?

Then, for some reason, she extracted a promise from Rubio that Donald Trump wouldn’t go after his political opponents in a second term.

Why? How is that any of a supposed news anchor’s business?

Unless she’s running interference for the Biden administration, which is exactly what she, and other members of the former “mainstream” media, are doing – astoundingly, even after Biden’s cataclysmic campaign crash in the June 27 presidential debate.

One would think the former “mainstream” media would be too profoundly embarrassed by their now-exposed historic coverup of Biden’s deteriorating mental state – which New York Magazine calls “The Conspiracy of Silence to Protect Joe Biden.”

But the media is far more corrupt than even we veterans of it had believed possible.

While Bash was reflexively defending Biden on the lawfare against Trump – where does she think all those court cases just spontaneously sprouted from on the eve of an election? – and trying to preempt any possible action against Democrats in a second Trump term, two local radio hosts were dutifully parroting questions to Biden that had been provided to them directly by his White House handlers.

Andrea Lawful-Sanders and WURD 96.1 FM in Philadelphia parted ways on Sunday after she admitted on CNN without apparent shame that she simply ran with the questions sent to her by the White House while interviewing Biden Wednesday – notably his first post-debate “interview.”

Likewise, Wisconsin radio host Earl Ingram has admitted to using stock White House questions for his interview of Biden on Thursday – questions that were apparently much the same as the ones asked in Philadelphia.

Why bother with the media middleman? Why not just have Biden ask himself the questions?

Do these two talking heads have an iota of a clue how much damage they’ve done to the cause of a free press and independent media – and, by extension, our system of self-governance? If the media simply recite questions handed to them by their government overseers, then the media have become state-run – no better than Russia’s mouthpieces for Putin.

Then again, their media colleagues at the national level are no better, and arguably much worse.

In fact, on the subject of the Biden administration possibly being involved in the various prosecutions of its presidential rival, Republican Sen. J.D. Vance noted correctly on NBC Sunday that “the No. 3 person in the [Biden] Department of Justice” just happened to take a chasmic demotion to join New York District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s office just in time “to go after the president’s political opponent” – which had host Kristen Welker absolutely bristling at the implication.

“Well, senator, that happens all the time,” she retorted – again, in a knee-jerk reaction to protect the president.

“I don’t think that’s ever happened in the history of American democracy, and I don’t think that we should legitimize it,” Vance politely shot back.

“Now, if Donald Trump’s attorney general had his No. 2 or No. 3 jump ship to a local prosecutor’s office in Ohio or Wisconsin, and that person then went after Donald Trump’s political opposition, that’s a different conversation. All he’s suggesting is that we should investigate credible arguments of wrongdoing. That’s all that Donald Trump is saying. That is not a threat to democracy. That’s merely reinforcing our system of law and government.”

Vance is both logical and right – but Biden’s flacks in the media can’t handle it, and they sure as heck don’t want Democrats investigated for wrongdoing. Perish the thought!

And get this: To “prove” that Biden hasn’t had anything to do with the prosecutions of his political rival, a la a Third World dictatorship, what “evidence” does Welker rely on?

Nothing more than a statement by the Biden administration itself.

“The DOJ told Congress this week it reviewed all communications since Biden took office and found no contact between federal prosecutors and those involved with that case in New York,” she swallowed whole. Well, there you go. End of discussion.

So that’s it. A host on a national network is content to accept, at face value and without question, the statement of Biden’s own administration on whether his administration is coordinating prosecutions of the president’s rival.

That’s not journalism, and that’s not a journalist. It’s state propaganda. And these are propagandists.

“What a profoundly dishonest moment this is for Democrats and their media allies,” The New York Post writes in a scathing editorial Friday – even before Bash’s and Welker’s bodyguarding of Biden on Sunday.

Even Oliva Nuzzo acknowledges in her New York Magazine article that she’d been hearing quiet tales of Biden’s cognitive decline from “Democratic officials, activists, and donors” since January – half a year ago. Which translates to a century in presidential politics.

Where have the media been these past few years? Are they even asking themselves?

“In any other time,” Missouri Sen. Eric Schmitt told Fox New’s Maria Bartiromo, “this would be a scandal. The media [have] helped cover this story up for years.

“It’s really fascinating to see the very people who were asking Joe Biden what kind of ice cream he likes for three and a half years suddenly are shocked by his lack of coherency that everyone saw on that debate stage that night.” 

The truth is, most journalists who cover the White House closely had to know of Biden’s decline much earlier than even January – but, as Nuzzo might put it, they engaged in a “conspiracy of silence to Protect Joe Biden.”

Even after being exposed for having done so, they’re still blocking and tackling for him.

Loyal to Biden – not to the country, or the news business – to the bitter end.
