(The Lion) — The mother of 18-year-old Sheridan Gorman, who was killed in March by an illegal immigrant, spoke out Monday, asking questions about her daughter’s last moments.
“Forty feet. That is how far my daughter ran for her life before evil caught her,” Jess Gorman said outside a Chicago courthouse. “Forty feet between the life Sheridan should have had and the criminal, illegal immigrant demon who stole her.
“Did she know that death was behind her?” Gorman continued, wiping away tears. “Was she crying out for me? Was she desperate for her father’s arms? Or was she begging God for one miracle, one more breath, one way home? I will never know.”
The Gorman family was in court as the man accused of her murder, Jose Medina-Medina, faced new charges after authorities allegedly found him in possession of a shank while in prison.
