(The Lion) — A seventh grader at a Colorado middle school was barred from reading her pro-life slam poem to her class, despite classmates reading poems about politically charged issues including immigration, the Second Amendment and LGBTQ topics.
The girl and her mother told Libs of TikTok the issue was deeply personal to them, with the mother revealing she was the child of a 14-year-old who was statutorily raped by a 19-year-old.
“My mother wouldn’t be here if her biological mother didn’t say yes to life,” the girl says.
Although her poem met all the criteria, including quoting established works – in this case Dr. Seuss and the Bible – she was told it was too political to be read in class and that she could not be present while others shared their slams. That decision was later reversed.
“A life is a life, no matter how small,” the poem says. “73 million people have been killed in one year and will be killed again this year, if not more. They are completely innocent humans. They never get to see the light of day before they are cast away, they did nothing wrong, except exist, and were dismissed.”

MUST WATCH: We asked the 13-year-old student who was barred from presenting her pro-life poem because it’s “offensive”, to read her poem so we can share it with the world.
PURE FIRE🔥
This is the poem @JeffcoSchoolsCo doesn’t want you to see.
