Watch: Trump’s 2nd-term approval among Republicans higher than Bush, Obama

(The Lion) — President Donald Trump’s approval rating among Republicans is higher than George W. Bush’s or Barack Obama’s at the same point in their second terms.

Republican approval of Trump stands at 86%, compared with 77% for both Bush and Obama among members of their parties, CNN chief data analyst Harry Enten said Thursday.

“Trump’s magic touch has not seemed to wear off yet when it comes to the Republican base,” Enten said. Polling found that 53% of Republicans strongly approve of the president, also higher than the levels recorded for Bush and Obama

The majority of Republicans “still really, really, really like him,” Enten said.
