Watch: Trump questions Fed appointments by autopen on eve of interest rate cut

(The Lion)–Before the Federal Reserve cut interest rates on Wednesday, President Donald Trump said at least two of the four board members appointed under Joe Biden may have had their appointments signed with an autopen, possibly making them null and void.

“I just heard it could be that all four commissioners in the Fed signed by Biden, including ‘too late Powell,’” were done with autopen, Trump said Tuesday at a rally in Pennsylvania, referencing Fed Chairman Jerome Powell, who announced the Fed’s third interest rate cut of the year Wednesday.

“He’s too late with his interest rates – for a reason,” Trump said, implying political bias, before asking Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent to check into it.

“I’m hearing that the autopen could have signed maybe all four but maybe a couple of them. We’ll take two,” he added.
