You know that “coexist” bumper sticker that condescendingly preaches coexistence to the most coexisting nation in history?

It’s now been shredded by the blood-dripped razor blade that is the far left.

Since the brazen assassination of faith, freedom and family activist Charlie Kirk, untold numbers of erstwhile Democrats, indifferent independents and oblivious conservatives have come to a belated understanding that the left – and arguably what’s left of the Democrat Party – has become infinitely more radicalized than they ever knew.

And that it’s going to be very difficult, if not impossible, to coexist with it.

“Americans are coming to the ultimate realization,” one X user posts. “After the assassination of Charlie Kirk, we can no longer coexist with the Left.

“Charlie Kirk’s murder makes one thing crystal clear. We cannot coexist with people who want us dead,” the user adds in another post.

“The people who claim to embrace the concept of ‘coexistence’ are the same people that are impossible to coexist with,” writes another.

“As a former leftist myself,” opines another X user, “you must understand that the left will never stop until they achieve victory. They will not leave you in peace. They will not coexist. The only two options are roll over and be crushed or crush them, over and over, relentlessly, constantly, forever.”

There’s actually a third option, and it’s the only acceptable one:

Any reasonable Democrat leaders who remain – are there any? – must do everything they can to cure the distemper that has the party in a delirious, dangerous, murderous fever.

That may take a decade or two of being out of power on the national level. But it shouldn’t. All it should take is the soul-splitting murder of a young man who sought only to talk, to work out our differences civilly, to ply the love that flows from Jesus Christ and clearly filled him to the brim.

In one of many astonishing videos that, like Kirk’s spirit, will live forever, he counsels a liberal father and conservative son through their relationship-wrecking political differences. He suggests the father’s generation simply has more faith in the federal government than his son’s does.

And that the father’s belief in the goodness of a government that once saved Europe twice and helped rebuild it – but has since turned on its conservative citizens – may be antiquated and fallacious.

Indeed, Kirk submits the young generation instead sees a government that has made it nearly impossible to own a home; has thrown open the border to chaos and death; and has grotesquely enriched a ruling class that does very little but lie to the people.

Kirk’s counsel, wise far beyond his 31 years, could ironically be a vaccine for today’s lethal Democrat distemper – the very foaming-at-the-mouth rabies that brought about his demise – if only Democrats would let it.

They should consider that perhaps conservatives aren’t evil, that their favorite president isn’t the embodiment of the Holocaust’s architects, and that they simply live in a different reality than the far left does – a reality in which free speech has been suffocated (see: Missouri v. Biden), the family has come under withering attack, God has been abandoned, and, yes, boys cannot magically become girls.

Whether there truly is this third alternative to “crushing” each other – and tearing the country asunder – is completely and inexorably up to Democrats. Can they divorce themselves from their far-left masters in time to avoid a national divorce?

The signs are ominous that they can’t. While increasing numbers of rank-and-file Democrats are leaving the party – which, like the federal government, isn’t the same as it used to be – its leaders are addicted to their drooling lust for power and their dripping hatred of anything and anyone that gets in the way of it.

Meanwhile, it’s Democrat leaders’ own reckless, hateful rhetoric that undoubtedly radicalized a young man into what authorities say is a homicidal zealot – and many, many others into his demonic supporters.

Be careful what you wish for, Democrat “leaders.”
