Media, Democrats don’t know how to take a win by US, Schmitt says after their odd opposition to Iran raid

The world just saw a daring, long-deferred U.S. strike on Iran’s nuclear facilities, cheered on by Israelis and Iranians alike. Yet, it’s been pooh-poohed by our own media and the subject of an impeachment push by Democrats.

How does that happen?

“Because they don’t really stand for anything except they’re opposed to anything President Trump does,” explains Missouri Sen. Eric Schmitt in an exclusive interview with The Heartlander.

“That’s just the truth. They don’t even know how to take a ‘W’ for the U.S.

“I mean, it wasn’t. Was not a good thing. President Trump was clear to make sure Iran did not have a nuclear weapon. Those facilities and that capabilities been obliterated at this point that we should cheer that.

“And then also, President Trump moved immediately to peace talks and a ceasefire. That’s a good thing. So, we should celebrate those things. But, you know, Trump Derangement syndrome is a tough thing to overcome, I guess.”

Meanwhile, there are anti-American protests expected across the country on July 4th; some people were openly wishing our military bases were hit by Iran in retaliation; and one Los Angeles County official actually took to social media to urge street gangs to rise up against ICE.

Cynthia Gonzalez, the vice mayor of Cudahy, California, asked where the gangs’ leadership is “now that your hood’s being invaded by the biggest gang there is.”

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security certainly took notice.

“She calls for criminal gangs – including the vicious 18th street gang – to commit violence against our brave ICE law enforcement,” DHS posted on X. “This kind of garbage has led to a more than 500 percent increase in assaults against our ICE law enforcement officers.”

In the run-up to the Fourth of July and next year’s patriotic celebration of America’s 250th anniversary, the question must be asked: Why is there so much anti-Americanism in America?

“I think the left is sort of fundamentally broken,” Schmitt argues. “Trump is somebody that they didn’t think would ever make it back, and he overcame all the odds and won.

“And he’s restoring, I think, a lot of trust in government again – from a government that weaponized against its own people and political opponents.

“We already had a ‘No Kings Day.’ It was actually the 4th of July, where we overthrew a king. We live in a constitutional republic. We’ve elected a president. And that president gets to propose ideas and lead the executive branch, the Article ll branch, and that’s all that’s happening right now.

“The fact that a lot of people are having a hard time coping with that, I don’t know what to say. People have a right to protest and have their voice be heard. But sadly, we’ve seen a lot of that devolve into violence. We saw Tesla dealerships firebombed. You have this kind of meandering belief that every week there’s a new constitutional crisis.

“I think it would be good for everybody to kind of hug their families and spend a little time outside and appreciate things. It’s OK to disagree. But when things get violent, we can’t tolerate that.”

Biden’s mysterious autopen

In other news, reports indicate former Biden White House aide Neera Tanden told the House Oversight Committee in closed-door testimony Tuesday that she directed the use of the presidential autopen despite not knowing where her approval for that came from.

How does that work?

“I think the more that comes out about what happened in that White House, people are going to be terrified,” says Schmitt, who last week co-chaired the first Capitol Hill hearing investigating Biden’s dementia and its coverup. “It’s worse than Watergate, there’s no doubt about that.

“We’re going to seek additional documents from the archivists. They’re supposed to authorize anytime that autopen was used. We’ll see if they did that.

“But the truth is, you probably had a bunch of people like her – overtly partisan leftists who couldn’t believe their luck in being in a situation where they could open up our southern border while fentanyl is streaming into our communities under the guise of their political ideology.

“There’s just so much destruction that happened because you had an incompetent person, in somebody who was in mental decline in the White House, and a lot of people seized on that.”

Trump’s Big Beautiful Bill deadline

On the Senate’s handling of the so-called Big Beautiful Bill, Schmitt says Republicans are determined to work through their major differences to get the package approved, sent back to the House for reapproval and on to Trump’s desk by July 4th as the president has asked.

“Well, that’s what we’re working on. It’s a work in progress. I think everybody’s committed to that process and getting there. There’s still a lot of moving parts.

“For me, the House SALT [tax breaks for high state and local tax areas] are a little too rich in subsidizing blue states’ bad decisions. So we’re working on that.

“There’s also some school choice provisions that we’re trying to bolster in this.

“Everybody has some of their own priorities that they want to make sure get addressed here. But I think ultimately everybody’s pretty united on making sure you’ve got more money for border security and deportations, for National Defense, no tax on tips, no tax on overtime, and then ultimately making sure those tax cuts from 2017 don’t expire.

“That would be a $4 trillion tax increase. A couple thousand per family. We don’t want to see that happen.”
