(The Lion) — Elon Musk’s Tesla vehicles have faced an alarming wave of violence because of his ties to President Donald Trump.
As troubling to many, though, is the silence from Democrats about the violence that’s coming from the left.
The liberal silence comes after years of Democrats and their allied bureaucrats in the federal government claiming, without evidence, that conservatives were the No. 1 terror threat to the nation.
Since President Donald Trump’s inauguration in January 2025, Tesla has been subjected to over a dozen reported violent attacks.
Here are some of the biggest:
On Jan. 29, in Loveland, Colorado, police discovered an incendiary device known as a Molotov cocktail that allegedly was planted at a Tesla dealership by Lucy Grace Nelson, also known as Justin Thomas Nelson, 42, of Lyons, Colorado, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Nelson, a transgender biological male, was arrested on Feb. 24 after gasoline and wick material similar to the items police recovered were discovered with Nelson at the dealership. Nelson was charged with several other acts of vandalism and with having incendiary materials during other incidents against the Tesla dealer.
Then on Feb. 19 in Salem, Oregon, Adam Matthew Lansky, 41, allegedly fired bullets from an AR-style rifle at a Tesla dealership, damaging windows. This followed a January incident where he allegedly threw a Molotov cocktail through the same dealership’s window, according to police.
“Surveillance footage obtained from the car dealership appeared to show Lansky throwing Molotov cocktails that struck a dealership building and several vehicles, causing fires,” said the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
“Surveillance video from a patrol car captured a vehicle parked near the dealership while Lansky is alleged to have discharged multiple firearm rounds into a building and at least one vehicle.”
March has seen more of the same for the Tesla brand, unfortunately, though it’s been fortunate no one has been killed or injured yet in the protests, known loosely as the Tesla Takedown.
There have been at least seven other incidents that involved either graffiti, vandalism, fire or gunshots with a Tesla vehicle, Tesla dealerships or Tesla charging stations in March, even though the month is only a quarter gone.
The terrorism has oddly been given a patina of peaceful protest by Democrat-aligned groups that show up at Tesla dealerships to protest against Musk – with media predictably framing the tumult as “mostly peaceful.”
“The #TeslaTakedown movement has been mostly peaceful, and the spat of violent attacks aimed at Tesla dealerships is – as far as we know – unconnected to activist activities,” wrote Gizmodo, a media company originally launched by the discredited left-wing site Gawker.
“Shades Of BLM: Fire Bombs, Bullets And Broken Glass – CNN Calls Tesla Protests Mostly Peaceful,” noted AutoSpies Auto News.
But the media whitewash of the seemingly coordinated turmoil may be dwarfed by the silence of Democrat politicians. At least one Republican is calling out the party of Obama-Biden over its hypocrisy.
“I find it so interesting that the Democrats here in Washington, D.C. have had absolutely nothing to say about people that are showing up,” Sen. Marsha Blackburn of Tennessee said understatedly about the Tesla attacks.
“They are burning these dealerships. They are smashing the windows. They’re lighting the cars on fire, and they are doing this to cause violence, disruption, and destruction of property.”
Those Democrats who did speak out were blasted for their tone-deafness.
Indeed, Sen. Chris Murphy, D-Connecticut, even ramped up the rhetoric, calling Trump’s decision to publicly support Telsa by purchasing one “corruption.”
“Just because the corruption plays out in public doesn’t mean it’s not corruption,” Murphy posted on X.
Other Democrats have followed suit, with DNC Chair Ken Martin saying, “I’m sure all the people losing their retirement, jobs, and health care because of Trump are glad to see the White House turned into a car dealership for the richest man on the planet.”
The political shots at Musk appear all the more unbecoming set against the firebombing and vandalism of Teslas – which Trump has characterized as domestic terrorism.
Democrats’ disregard of the violence aimed at Musk is further inconguous considering their recent use of the FBI and Department of Justice to arrest and prosecute pro-lifers; investigate Catholics; and to declare parents “domestic terrorists” for being angry at school boards for racial and sexual indoctrination of students – and even about students being raped in school allegedly by a transgender male.
