(The Lion) — The trans lobby is after same-sex spaces and nothing is off-limits, not even in liberal San Francisco.
Trans activists are targeting a spa in San Francisco that holds monthly male-only or female-only nights for people of religious backgrounds that specifically prohibit mixing between the sexes when nudity is involved.
The Archimedes Banya, a Russian bathhouse, is being targeted after it refused to allow Breath Mormorer, a trans-identified male, to disrobe around women, Reduxx, a pro women’s news site reports.
Mormorer, who pronounces his name Momor-ray, became enraged, calling for a boycott and accusing the spa of bigotry. Now other trans activists are joining him.
“It’s exclusion. It’s discrimination. It goes against everything that I came here for,” he told local CBS News. “I came from Alabama specifically to escape that type of prejudice and hate. And I got here and I found out this city has just as much of it.”
In response to the boycott, Banya issued a statement that while it respects the Bay Area’s “diversity” and desire for “inclusivity,” it also honors the needs of religious and cultural communities that require sex-segregated spaces.
To further assuage the protesters, the spa announced an Inclusive Women’s Night, open to “all individuals who identify as women,” and a Cultural and Religious Women’s Night for women based on their birth sex.
But that wasn’t good enough for trans activists, who ratcheted up their rhetoric and picketing efforts.
One protester, identified by CBS simply as “Jordan,” blamed Christianity for stamping out “sex and gender fluidity” in ancient Europe and made the claim that “a lot of Catholic, Orthodox Jewish and Muslim people (are) trans allies if not trans themselves.
“(The spa’s) response is really discriminatory when you think about it because if you had a night where you excluded, say, a certain race, that would not fly and we’re just saying, trans exclusive nights won’t fly,” Jordan said.
Another trans activist said the attempt to accommodate both communities was causing fear.
“As Latinos, as trans, as queer, as African American, the fear is turned now,” said Dakota Rose Austin. “If you weaponize DEI and affirmative action and all these other things that were a benefit of everyone in America and you weaponize them against us, now I’m in fear.”
A Korean spa on the East Coast is also being targeted by the LGBTQ crowd.
King Spa in Palisades Park, New Jersey, near New York City, is being sued by Alexandra Goebert, a trans-identified man who was prohibited from the female-only nude area of the spa after admitting he was still intact as a male, Reduxx reports.
