Outgoing congresswoman Cori Bush of Missouri claimed in her farewell speech that her infamous far-left “squad” was “never small.”
All evidence to the contrary, however, as her emotional goodbye speech was delivered among just a handful of diehard supporters in an otherwise barren House chambers on Friday, notes The Daily Caller.
Nicknamed “The Squad,” Bush’s cadre of notorious House Democrat radicals includes New York’s Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Michigan’s Rashida Tlaib, Massachusetts’ Ayanna Pressley, Minnesota’s Ilhan Omar and New York’s Jamaal Bowman – the latter of whom lost his primary as Bush did.
As for Bush, if her far-left radicalism didn’t inspire voters to oust her in the Democrat primary this year, perhaps her hypocrisy – and her arguable nepotism – did.
Indeed, a fierce proponent of defunding police for the rest of society, reports last year showed Bush nonetheless spent over half a million dollars for private security for herself, including tens of thousands flowing to her husband.
Though members of Congress are so hard to evict there may be scratch marks on the door jambs, the two-term 1st District incumbent in St. Louis lost her August primary to prosecutor Wesley Bell.
“Our Squad was never small and never silent,” Bush said in her farewell. “We have changed the course of history. Each of you have made history and made a difference in your own right and you have made a difference in my life. And I’m going to speak for brother Jamaal: You’ve made a difference in his.
“We are family, and if for nothing else we will always be connected for our time right here in Congress together, our impact on our world, and for the experiences that we have endured together this cycle.”
