President Biden ‘looks like a criminal’ in House whistleblower testimony over his family’s foreign influence peddling, Hawley says

Whistleblower testimony on his family’s payoffs from foreign actors has President Joe Biden – and perhaps even the Department of Justice – looking “like a criminal,” says Missouri Sen. Josh Hawley.

Two IRS whistleblowers confirmed to a House committee Wednesday the Bidens pulled in $17 million from foreign nationals in Ukraine, Romania and China. And House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, R-Kentucky, says the Biden family may have pocketed as much as $30 million.

“The picture that’s emerging is, he looks like a criminal,” Hawley said in response to a question from The Heartlander on Thursday.

Hawley noted the whistleblowers, one of whom is an avowed Democrat, are career professionals whose testimony is highly credible.

“These are not political people. And what they said is that the White House intervened constantly to stop the investigation into Hunter. And I think even more telling, they have evidence that Hunter discussed his illegal business dealings with his father and involved his father in his business dealings. We’re talking about foreign bribery schemes. This is one of the biggest scandals in American history, potentially. So, if I were Joe Biden, I’d want to clear my name.”

The whistleblowers also say investigations of Biden influence peddling and possible tax evasion were obstructed by superiors and Biden political appointees.

“It’s absolutely crystal clear we have to have an independent law enforcement investigation here,” Hawley said in an interview with The Heartlander. “The corrupt Merrick Garland can’t do it. He’s such an embarrassment to this country and to the Department of Justice and to the office of Attorney General. He can’t do it.

“We’ve got to have an independent counsel, who will bring full law enforcement resources to bear and find out whether or not the president of the United States is a crook and is, in effect, owned by foreign business interests – or foreign government interests for that matter, which is probably just as bad.

“I mean, this family is like one giant crime ring. And the more we know about it, the less the corporate media wants to talk about it. It’s unbelievable. But it’s a basic question: The president of the United States, is he a crook?

“The American people deserve to know whether or not the president is a crook. And when you have a lot of evidence to that effect, as we do now, it needs to be investigated by law enforcement.”

The Heartlander asked Hawley if the DOJ itself may have committed crimes in obstructing investigations into the Bidens.

“If they have interfered politically to obstruct justice, then potentially,” he said. “What they’ve certainly done is, they have prevented law enforcement from actually prosecuting Bidens for their crimes, whether it’s Hunter or other members of the Biden family.”

On another matter related to the Biden administration, Hawley said he supports Alabama Sen. Tommy Tuberville’s block on all Senate confirmations of military promotions until the Pentagon stops subsidizing abortions for servicewomen. Since February the Department of Defense has paid for both travel and time off for abortions.

“Listen, I think that what Tommy Tuberville is trying to get done is to get the military to stop using taxpayer money to pay for abortion,” Hawley says. “And they’re doing it, by the way, without any congressional authorization. They’ve just gone out there and said, ‘You know what? We’re going to use taxpayer money and the military to pay for and fund abortions, including abortions in the eighth and ninth month.’

“And now we’ve got our tax money paying for it. I’m against that. Sen. Tuberville is trying to use one approach here to try to get that policy reversed, and I’m in favor of trying anything we can to stop using taxpayer money to support abortion.

“I support his efforts, and if that doesn’t work we should try something else.”
