JC Crossley has filed to run as a Republican for state representative in Lee’s Summit. Without a primary challenger, he is the de facto Republican nominee for November’s General Election. Though it is not yet certain who will be his Democratic opponent, Crossley is optimistic about his chances of becoming the area’s next state representative.
“I’ve lived in Lee’s Summit since 1959,” said Crossley. “My wife, Debbie, and I have raised our children here and have seen them start families of their own. I love our community and want to guarantee that Lee’s Summit has a genuine voice in the Missouri Capitol. I think voters are tired of career politicians and their broken promises. I look forward to earning voters’ trust as a normal citizen with no ladder-climbing agenda.”
Crossley is the retired owner of Sharp Long Heating and Cooling and a former member of the Cambridge Heights HOA board. However, he’s often recognized today as a former Sunday school and youth group leader for Lee’s Summit Bible Church, where he currently serves as an elder. Engaging in meaningful conversations with people remains a lifelong passion of Crossley.
“As a child, I loved learning from my elders and peers. Now, I love investing in the next generation. The children of today are the leaders and innovators of tomorrow. It is my honor to listen to their perspectives and gain a more rounded understanding of our world. As a state representative, my goal will be to continue to listen to others and ensure they feel heard.”
As a man of faith, Crossley hopes to preserve proven Judeo-Christian values in society. Honesty, integrity, and hard work are the foundation upon which he’s built his conservative platform. His main concerns are upholding the Constitution, defending life in all stages, and supporting local businesses in these trying times.
“Our world is hurting. Political division has become the new norm. Meanwhile, inflation is skyrocketing, while income is stagnant for many. Small businesses are drowning in government regulations and basic products are in limited supply on store shelves. State leaders need to seriously tackle these issues and stop pointing fingers at people they don’t agree with. As a member of the Missouri House, I will fight for our Lee’s Summit families and restore civility in our everyday lives.”
