Watch: Wyoming ‘Truck around and find out’ operation arrests 32 illegal immigrant drivers

(The Lion) — A three-day operation by the Laramie County, Wyoming, Sheriff’s Office led to the arrest of 32 truck drivers in the country illegally.

The late-February operation, dubbed “Truck around and find out,” partnered with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The 177 traffic stops targeted commercial vehicles and unsafe drivers and resulted in 51 citations, along with 32 individuals who were arrested and turned over to ICE.

“Hopefully now the word is out, this is not the county that you want to truck around and find out,” Laramie County Sheriff Brian Kozak said. “When I say truck around, I mean drive a truck undocumented, unlicensed and unsafe.”

The move comes amid federal efforts to crack down on the issuance of commercial driver’s licenses to illegal immigrants and drivers who cannot read English road signs. Multiple fatal accidents over the past year have involved such drivers.
